What Is A Section 18A Certificate?

A receipt issued by a section 18A approved organization that meets the criteria set out in section 18A is referred to as a “section 18A receipt.”

It permits a taxpayer who donates to a PBO or certain other organizations to receive a tax deduction up to a specified amount.

What Is The Meaning of PBO?

PBO stands for Public Benefit Organisation.

  • Section 1 of the Companies Act defines it as a non-profit company (NPC) or ;
  • A trust or a group of people founded, incorporated, or created in the Republic of South Africa.
