Foreign Company Registration Process

Register as a customer

Step 1- Get Started

Go to eservices.cipc.co.za and click on “Customer Registration”

Step 2- Identification

Indicate if you are a South African citizen or not and fill in the required information to continue to sign up process.

Step 3- Personal Information

Fill in your personal information in the space provided and when done, click on the register at the bottom of the page.

Step 4- Confirmation

You will then receive your confirmation message and your customer code. Your customer code will form part of your login ID.

Register your company manually

For you to complete registering your company manually you will need to complete the following forms:

  • CoR 20.1
  • CoR20.1A
  • CoR21.2
  • The company’s founding documents and certificate of incorporation have to be attached to the email
  • Certified copy of applicant’s ID
  • Certified copy of passport for incorporators, directors and representatives
  • Power of attorney (if applicable)

All the information on these documents must be translated if the original is not one of the official South African languages. Once all the information has been provided send the documents to [email protected].

Deposit R400 into the CIPC banking account with the reference number being your customer code.

How to find your company registration number

Step 1- Login

Go to bizportal.gov.za/login and type in your login details. In the case you don’t have a South African ID, please click on the green slider above the information block and provide the information required

Step 2- Search

Click on the search icon on the top right corner of the page and wait to be redirected

Step 3- Company search

Scroll down and change the search criteria from “Search by” to “Enterprise Name”. Then type the company’s name in the space provided on the right and click “Search”.

Step 4- Registration number

You should then be able to see the enterprise name and the tracking number associated with the company. Please note your registration number will end with a / and 2 digits at the end of the number, the other 10 digit number with no “/” is your reservation number for the company name.
